IWC Hosts Successful Golf Challenge with Lewis Hamilton and Tom Brady

The luxury Swiss watch manufacturer partnered with Lewis Hamilton and Tom Brady to raise funds for social support programs.

Right before the Miami Grand Prix, Schaffhausen invited sports legends across the sporting world, notably seven-time Super Bowl Winner Tom Brady and seven-time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, to compete in his exciting golf challenge for a cause. After the “Big Pilot Challenge” event at the Miami Beach Golf Club, the competitors auctioned the four IWC watches worn by the international auction house Bonhams.

The proceeds of these auctions were used by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation to support Miami-based nonprofit ventures such as the Dibia Dream, which helps supports young athletes get through their educational careers with the power of sport. This program benefits over 5,000 youth and has not only improved their school attendance, but academic performances as well. They also teach life skills through mentorship programs and active participation.

Lewis Hamilton and Tom Brady competed together on a team of lucky sevens, as they both have won seven titles in their respective sport. This small event for charity was part of an exciting week in Miami as the Grand Prix was held the next day. Lewis Hamilton even joked on social media that there were 14 championship titles in one photo on Twitter.

Luxury Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen organized the event. Some other athletes of note included retired NFL running back Marcus Allen and the Dibia Dream Founder and CEO, Brandon Okpalobi.

Brady and Hamilton formed “Team Mojave Desert,” and Allen and Okpalobi came together as “Team Lake Tahoe.”

Some events held were challenges such as “longest drive” and a “closest to the pin” challenge.

Allen and Okpalobi won the longest drive competition against Brady and Hamilton. They also beat out the sevens at the closest to the pin competition as well. Lewis Hamilton did try and succeeded at declaring the closest to the pin challenged a tie.
