The Denali Ultimate trim is new to the Acadia for 2026, placing the nameplate alongside GMC’s most premium trucks and SUVs. After a week in the all-wheel-drive model, what stood out most was how naturally it balances luxury, technology and everyday usefulness.

A More Distinctive Acadia Denali Ultimate
Sterling Metallic paint, Vader Chrome accents and 22-inch wheels give the flagship trim its own visual identity.
The Acadia’s added size gives the Denali Ultimate long, planted proportions without making it look oversized.
My test vehicle was finished in Sterling Metallic, a $495 option that complemented the darker exterior details well. The signature Vader Chrome grille and dark GMC emblems give the front end a more sophisticated look than traditional bright chrome. Animated LED lighting adds a modern welcome sequence, while exclusive Denali Ultimate badging sets the flagship trim apart without overwhelming the design.
Standard 22-inch machined aluminum wheels feature After Midnight Metallic accents, and quad exhaust outlets add a performance-oriented touch. The overall design communicates luxury through proportion and detail rather than excess.
The resemblance to the larger Yukon is easy to spot, especially from the front, but the Acadia keeps a more approachable scale. That distinction matters in urban traffic, parking garages and family routines where a full-size SUV can feel like more vehicle than necessary.

Woodland Mahogany full-leather seating gives the cabin a rich character. Heated and ventilated front seats include a massage function, and full-leather second-row captain’s chairs comfortably fit adults. Plaited contrast stitching, Denali Ultimate badges and metallic accents round out the presentation.
Real Paldao wood trim adds another layer of craftsmanship. GMC laser-etches the wood with a topographical map pattern repeated across the seatbacks, door trim and map pockets, a subtle nod to the brand’s outdoor identity that gives the interior its own visual signature.
The Acadia seats seven, and the third row is useful for more than occasional duty. One-touch second-row seats simplify access, and the power-folding third row eases the switch from passengers to cargo.
There are 23 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 57.3 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 97.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. That is enough flexibility for golf bags, luggage and family gear on longer trips without requiring a Yukon XL’s footprint.
A panoramic sunroof helps the cabin feel more open, while active noise cancellation and the Acadia’s well-insulated cabin keep road and wind noise to a minimum.

A 15-inch touchscreen, nine camera views and standard Super Cruise handle the details of long-distance travel.
A 15-inch vertical infotainment screen anchors the dashboard, paired with an 11-inch digital driver display and a configurable 8-inch head-up display. Google built-in provides integrated navigation and connected services, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto let drivers use familiar smartphone functions.
The large center screen earns its keep with navigation and the Acadia’s camera system. Denali Ultimate includes nine available camera views, HD Surround Vision and a Rear Camera Mirror, all useful in a vehicle measuring nearly 17 feet long. A wireless phone charger, physical climate controls and a conveniently placed volume knob keep everyday usability intact.
The 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system delivers clear, well-balanced sound throughout the cabin.
Safety shows up in an unexpected but practical way: when parked, the Acadia won’t shift into Drive or Reverse until the driver buckles up. The safeguard caught me off guard the first time, but it makes sure every trip starts with the driver properly secured.
Super Cruise may be the most meaningful piece of technology onboard. Standard on the Denali Ultimate with a three-year OnStar One plan, the hands-free driver-assistance system can manage compatible stretches of roadway while monitoring driver attention, and it can operate while towing under the right conditions.

Turbocharged Power and a Relaxed Ride
A 328-horsepower four-cylinder and a tuned suspension favor comfort over drama.
Every 2026 Acadia uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. My test vehicle added all-wheel drive.
The numbers are strong, and the Acadia moves with confidence in normal driving. Torque arrives quickly enough for highway merging and passing, and the transmission mostly works without calling attention to itself. The engine gets more vocal under hard acceleration than a traditional six-cylinder would, but its everyday performance suits the vehicle’s size and purpose.
The Denali Ultimate’s performance suspension is tuned to balance control with isolation from sharp impacts. That is important given the 22-inch wheels, which can sometimes work against ride quality. Here, the Acadia stays composed and comfortably cushioned, favoring the relaxed character most buyers want from a three-row luxury SUV.
Steering is light, making the Acadia easier to maneuver than its dimensions suggest. Up to six selectable drive modes let the driver adjust its responses for different roads and conditions.
Properly equipped, the Acadia can tow up to 5,000 pounds, enough for many boats, recreational trailers and weekend equipment. EPA estimates for the all-wheel-drive model are 20 mpg city, 23 highway and 21 combined. The engine also runs on regular gasoline, which helps keep operating costs down.

At $67,590 as tested, the Denali Ultimate arrives with almost nothing left to add.
My Sterling Metallic Acadia Denali Ultimate AWD carried a standard vehicle price of $65,100. With the $495 paint option and $1,895 destination charge, the total came to $67,590.
That’s real money for an Acadia, but the equipment list changes the math. Super Cruise, full-leather massaging front seats, full-leather second-row seating, 22-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, Bose Performance Series audio, a head-up display, advanced cameras, all-wheel drive and distinctive interior materials were already included. The only option added to the test vehicle was its paint.
Unlike many luxury vehicles, the Denali Ultimate arrives essentially complete.
Buyers who prioritize a traditional prestige badge or the sound of a six-cylinder engine may look elsewhere. Those who value space, comfort, advanced technology and usable capability will find plenty to like here, especially set against similarly equipped three-row luxury SUVs.

The turbocharged four-cylinder won’t win over every buyer emotionally, particularly those who associate a luxury SUV with six or eight cylinders. But it delivers strong output, regular-fuel convenience and the performance needed for everyday family travel.
The Acadia Denali Ultimate feels upscale without becoming delicate, substantial without becoming cumbersome, and technologically advanced without making ordinary controls unnecessarily complicated. For drivers drawn to the Yukon Denali but not in need of a full-size SUV, it’s worth a look.
