McLaren Golf Irons Bring Supercar Precision to the Fairway

The Formula 1 brand enters golf with the Series 1 and Series 3, two performance irons shaped by engineering, speed, and control.

McLaren has spent decades engineering machines that go faster, turn sharper, and perform at limits the human body can barely tolerate. Now, that same relentless precision has found a new proving ground: the golf course.

Launched in Miami alongside the Miami Grand Prix and the PGA Tour’s concurrent event in the city, McLaren Golf irons arrive with the debut of the Series 1 and Series 3. Together, the two models make an immediate case for the brand’s place in the modern golf equipment market.

The Series 1 and Series 3 irons are built on a foundation of Metal Injection Molding, known as MIM, a manufacturing process so precise and costly that it has rarely been deployed at scale in golf. MIM gives McLaren Golf complete control over material composition, internal geometry, and mass distribution, the kind of granular engineering control that does not exist in traditional forging or casting. Every gram is intentional. Every structural decision is a performance decision.

Tour Blade: Series 1

A tour blade reimagined: compact, clean at address, with McLaren Structural Mesh and embedded tungsten delivering forgiveness without sacrificing shot-making control. Designed in partnership with Justin Rose.

Players Distance: Series 3

A performance system built around MIM architecture, carbon fiber, and a heel-cut sole that manages turf interaction while maintaining clubhead speed through impact. Maximum distance, refined feel.

Both McLaren Golf irons share a defining design element: McLaren Structural Mesh, a honeycomb-inspired external architecture drawn directly from the brand’s supercar engineering. It maintains structural rigidity and face strength while freeing mass from non-critical areas. That mass is then redistributed to increase MOI and fine-tune center of gravity placement.

The Series 3 adds a carbon fiber bonnet along the back of the iron head, a nod to McLaren’s racing heritage that also serves as an integrated vibration management system.

“We challenged every part of the process, from materials to construction, to uphold the exacting standards and constant pursuit of excellence that define McLaren.”
Neil Howie, CEO, McLaren Golf

The brand’s Tour roster is built for credibility. Justin Rose, major champion, Olympic gold medalist, and integral product tester for nearly two years, leads the charge with the Series 1, teeing them up this week in Miami. Michelle Wie West and Ian Poulter round out the founding three, each an investor in the brand as well as an ambassador. All three will compete with McLaren Golf irons in active Tour events in the weeks ahead.

Both models are priced at $375 per club in stock configuration and are available beginning April 30 through select custom fitting retailers in North America, Europe, and South Korea, as well as online at mclarengolf.com.

For golfers who have always believed that the details separate good from great, on the course and off it, McLaren Golf irons are now very much in the bag.
