Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, this par-71 layout stretches just over 7,000 yards and offers sweeping Ozarks views. Despite narrow fairways, elevation changes, and blind shots, the course is relatively forgiving. Resort-style design elements help funnel balls toward greens, and reachable par 5s and short par 4s keep play engaging. Still, hiring a forecaddie may be wise. The course is firm, fast, and fun, with the added bonus of a complimentary bison hot dog at the turn.

Acquired by Morris in 2013 and renovated by Tom Fazio from its original 1999 design, Buffalo Ridge has become one of the top public courses in the country. Featuring sweeping views of the Ozark Mountains and cascading waterfalls, the course places greens along steep drop-offs, atop shelves above water, and beside cliffside features. The routing stretches across nearly 50 acres, with approximately 400 feet of vertical descent, finishing near Payne’s Valley.
Adding to the experience is the “Lion’s Den,” Cliffhangers’ signature moment and one of the most dramatic shots in golf. Players tee off from inside a limestone cavern, launching through a cascading waterfall to a green set several stories below. The result is both visually stunning and technically demanding, often described by golfers as surreal and unforgettable.
As the latest addition to Branson’s expanding Ozarks golf portfolio, Cliffhangers is the destination’s 11th course. Its proximity to Payne’s Valley and the famed 19th hole further enhances its appeal, creating a trio of experiences that blend scenic beauty with thrilling design.
