[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Greater Gwinnet Championship presented by Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating, a PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour event returned to the Atlanta metro area featuring 81 champions Tour professionals competing for a 1.8 million purse at TPC Sugarloaf. Spectators watched as Bernard Langer captured his 18th Tour championship win. He competed against one of the top fields on the Tour schedule World Golf Hall of Fame members Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Curtis Strange, Sandy Lyle, and Larry Nelson all competed. Other notable participants included Kenny Perry, Rocco Mediate, Tom Lehman, John Cook, Fred Funk, Steve Elkington, and Mark Calcavecchia. All are expected to compete for the 2014 title.
All three rounds will be televised nationally by The Golf Channel. All proceeds from the event benefit local charities through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation, Inc.
