New Zealand’s top golf course is about to feature new luxury lodgings as The Lodge at Kinloch opens next month and turns the The Kinloch Club into a world class golfing resort. The Lodge at Kinloch will feature one-bedroom junior suites and luxurious one- and two-bedroom villas with views over the course and Lake Taupo, the scenic hub of New Zealand’s North Island. Along with golf, guests will be able to indulge in wide range of recreational and entertainment options and enjoy fine dining with organically grown food from the Kinloch estate.

The Kinloch Club is the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in New Zealand, and showcases his design philosophy that focuses on the natural environment while using natural features to enhance shot values so that golfers can work on all aspects of their game. While the Kinloch Club is not a true links course, it merges aspects of both links and parkland course design. The club was ranked as the number one course in the country in 2014 by New Zealand golf professionals and was voted as one of the top 10 new golf courses in the world by U.S. Travel and Leisure magazine (the only course outside of North America to make the prestigious list).

Along with the lakeside links-style golf course, Lodge at Kinloch guests offers a swimming pool, gym and tennis courts, and has an onsite spa specializing in sporting therapeutic and organic wellness treatments. The lodge is also the perfect base from which to explore the beauty and recreational opportunities of New Zealand’s North Island. North Island is noted for having some of the world’s best trout streams, while Lake Taupo features a wide range of water sports. Nearby Tongariro Park offers winter skiing and hiking on the world-famous Tongariro Crossing, and eco-wilderness experiences and geyser tours are offered at Kinloch’s sister lodge, the Treetops Lodge and Estates at Rotorua.
