As life gets faster and more complex, the need for quality time and space – the freedom to be you – grows too. At Gloster, an innovative furniture design company, it’s all about creating defined rooms, which become your own private oasis in the outdoor area, but still open and exposed to the elements – with a sense of enclosure.

Indulgently conceived by the talented eye of respected Danish designer Henrik Pedersen, Cradle is the epitome of luxury. More than large enough for two, Cradle surrounds and comforts. With a selection of shades, privacy can be adjusted to suit. A variety of finishes and fabric options as well as an integrated side table are available. Henrik states that he has “often seen indulgent pieces of furniture designed to accommodate two and yet somehow feeling ostentatious and contrived”. His objective with Cradle “was to create private space that was as subtle as it was effective – full of options to hide away or party – an infinitely changeable piece that could be used whatever the mood and wherever the place.”

Constructed with an aluminum frame and available in two powder-coated finishes (White or Meteor) Cradle’s horizontal slats are beautifully turned solid teak. An accessory side table is available in matching powder-coated finishes. The base and back cushion are offered in a wide variety of cushion fabrics, including 8 waterproof options. Accessory shades are available in a neutral fabric that compliments any frame/cushion combination.

Headquartered in Virginia, with Gloster Studios located in major cities – Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Miami, Gloster’s roots can be traced all the way back to West Africa in 1960, where a band of passionate entrepreneurs and furniture makers took the first steps on a long journey. By the early 1970s, increased demand and access to plantation grown teak led the company to move its manufacturing factory to Indonesia.
