As Los Angeles grapples with the aftermath of devastating wildfires, a new chapter in golf history begins with the launch of TGL presented by SoFi. On Tuesday, January 14, at 7 p.m. ET, Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club faces off against Los Angeles Golf Club in the inaugural TGL match, marking the debut of this groundbreaking prime-time league. The match will be held at the state-of-the-art SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Los Angeles Golf Club, featuring top players such as Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, and Sahith Theegala, is taking the opportunity to support wildfire recovery efforts. The club announced a watch party at Cosm Los Angeles, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. The event will also include a relief supply drive, collecting bottled water, blankets, hygiene products, and pet food for those affected by the fires.

Despite the challenges facing the city, the spirit of competition and camaraderie remains strong, as evidenced by the launch of TGL. The wildfires have caused significant destruction, claiming lives, displacing over 130,000 residents, and damaging or destroying more than 9,000 properties. The league’s debut offers a beacon of hope and a symbol of the city’s resilience in the face of adversity. As Jupiter Links Golf Club, featuring Tiger Woods, Max Homa, and Kevin Kisner, takes on Los Angeles Golf Club, the match promises not only thrilling competition but also a powerful reminder of the strength of community and the enduring spirit of the city.

Co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, TGL combines advanced technology and live action in a fast-paced, two-hour, three-person team competition. This innovative league aims to reimagine golf for a new generation, blending virtual and real-life play on a custom-designed 15-hole course. Fans can catch the action live on SiriusXM and ESPN, with commentary by Taylor Zarzour and John Maginnes, and hear insights from the players through live microphones.
