JAPANESE ARTIST YUKO KANATANI AND NIKE DELIVER A SERIES OF LIMITED EDITION TIGHTS
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]nspirations are powerful. They are the engines that fuel creativity and activity. For her design of the Nike Tight of the Moment-Sparkling Sunburst, Yuko Kanatani looked to visually capture the electric feeling one gets the moment an inspiration is born. For Yuko, this feeling is best captured with bright colors, a staple of the NTM-Sparkling Sunburst. The artist used acrylic paints to hand-draw a medley of shapes, each of which reflects the joyful mood she experiences upon discovering new inspirations.
The NTM-Sparkling Sunburst is the third and final tight from Yuko’s collaboration with Nike. Just as with the NTM-Magical Kaleidoscope and NTM-Midnight Craftwork, Yuko used a body map supplied by Nike Sport Research to inform her design. This enabled her to position her art to accentuate an athlete’s muscles and heating and cooling zones in a flattering fashion. Digital sublimation technology, which employs a heat press to send ink from a printed picture onto a piece of fabric, transferred the finished design onto the tights.
Nike Tight of the Moment is a performance proposition. Soft Nike Dri-FIT fabric helps pull sweat away from the skin to help keep athletes dry and comfortable.
The NTM-Sparkling Sunburst comes in two Nike Pro styles, the Nike Pro Tight and Nike Pro Sports Bra. The print will also be featured on the Nike Studio Wrap Pack
