Lexus and Malbon Golf have unveiled the one-of-a-kind 2024 Lexus GX 550 Malbon Edition, a project vehicle that redefines golf-inspired luxury and off-road capability. This special collaboration, while not destined for production, has already captured the attention of golf and adventure enthusiasts alike.
Dressed in a striking green fairway topographic design with a white roof, the GX 550 Malbon Edition is designed for the ultimate foursome experience. It features seating for four, with second-row captain’s chairs and a custom pull-out storage box replacing the third row. This innovative storage solution can accommodate up to four golf bags, clubs, and all the necessary accessories for a perfect day on the course.
“Through our collaboration with Malbon, we’ve built a GX that will deliver a golf outing to remember,” said Nicole Peterson, Lexus marketing manager.
Additional features include Malbon Golf logos on the grille, headrests, and 22-inch alloy wheels, along with a roof-mounted Pelican™ BX140R Cargo Case for longer clubs. A Yakima® SlimShady Roof Awning provides sun and rain protection, making the vehicle versatile for both golf course and outdoor adventures.
The Lexus GX 550 Malbon Edition will be on display at select events throughout 2024. Most recently, it made a stunning appearance on the green at the star-studded Michelob Ultra Presents Complex’s Inaugural Celebrity Golf Pro-Am, Powered by Lexus, held at the Wynn Las Vegas Golf Course on November 14, 2024. This high-profile event celebrated golf’s ongoing cultural renaissance, attracting celebrities, athletes, and musicians who embody the sport’s newfound inclusivity and diversity.
“This vehicle elevates the golfer’s experience by providing a dedicated home for both passengers and their equipment,” said Malbon Golf co-founder Stephen Malbon.
Lexus and Malbon revealed exclusive capsule items as part of the Pro-Am, blending streetwear with golf culture and offering a glimpse of a larger collection planned for 2025. These co-branded items highlight a broader trend of brands embracing the sport and redefining its identity for a younger, more diverse audience.
The Lexus GX 550 Malbon Edition will continue its tour at events like the Lexus Malbon Invitational in Miami on December 4, showcasing the intersection of luxury, lifestyle, and sport. Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or an off-road adventurer, this project vehicle is a bold statement in merging sport, style, and utility.
