The 2025 TOUR Championship is bringing fresh energy to Atlanta’s historic East Lake Golf Club. On the eve of competition at the season-ending event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, the venue will once again host the Creator Classic at East Lake — a groundbreaking cultural crossover presented by YouTube.
Set for Wednesday, August 20, the event marks the third and final stop of the 2025 Creator Classic Series, a three-part competition held at select PGA TOUR venues. Earlier editions took place at TPC Sawgrass during THE PLAYERS and at Philadelphia Cricket Club during the Truist Championship. Produced by Pro Shop Studios, the series represents a bold new chapter in the PGA TOUR’s creator strategy, engaging digital-first audiences and elevating golf’s cultural relevance.
Now in its second year, the Creator Classic blends the competitive spirit of professional golf with the dynamic reach of new media. The field includes returning stars from the inaugural event such as defending champion Luke Kwon, Tisha Alyn, Peter Finch, Gabby Golf Girl, Micah Morris, Chris Solomon of No Laying Up, and Roger Steele, who returns with his signature mix of charisma, culture, and competitive edge. The Good Good Golf crew—Garrett Clark, Brad Dalke, and Sean Walsh—returns as well, alongside Short Game King (Daniel Saloner), who earned his spot through a live qualifier held in July.

“This isn’t just content — it’s a cultural moment for golf.”
– Chris Wandell, SVP of Media, PGA TOUR
The format features eight-hole stroke play on holes 10 through 17, followed by a sudden-death playoff on 18 among the top four scores. A winner-take-all purse of $100,000 is on the line. The event will be broadcast live at 3:45 p.m. ET on YouTube TV, ESPN+, GOLF Channel, and PGA TOUR’s FAST Channels on platforms such as Roku, Pluto TV, and Prime Video.
“The Creator Classic isn’t just about content. It’s about connecting golf’s traditions with a new generation through authentic, modern storytelling,” said Chris Wandell, PGA TOUR SVP of Media. “And East Lake is the perfect backdrop to bring that vision to life.”
The 2024 debut saw over 2.6 million YouTube views, a peak live audience of 118,000, and trending status across digital platforms. PGA TOUR officials report nearly 60 million fans were engaged around the event across social platforms, showing clear demand for this kind of crossover content.

“We’re reimagining the future of live sports — and creators are at the heart of it.”
– Angela Courtin, VP of Connected TV Marketing, YouTube
For 2025, YouTube is also curating an on-site Creator Collective that brings over 50 digital creators together with the PGA TOUR to build relationships, spark collaborations, and explore new ways to grow the game. Fans attending the TOUR Championship can visit the YouTube Clubhouse at The Landing between holes 16 and 17 for content activations, simulators, and immersive viewing experiences.
“We’re reimagining the future of live sports, and creators are at the heart of it,” said Angela Courtin, VP of Connected TV Marketing at YouTube. “This partnership shows how golf, storytelling, and community can come together in meaningful ways.”
Produced by Pro Shop Studios, the event’s broadcast experience features drone coverage, ShotLink data, Trackman visuals, and on-air talent including Shane Bacon, Hannah Aslesen, Aaron Chewning, Paige Spiranac, and Dan Rapaport.

“Millions are watching — because this is how the next generation wants to experience the game. Think of it as the TGL or LIV of amateur creator golf — this is just the beginning.”
“This series has helped connect millions of new fans to the game,” said Chad Mumm, President of Pro Shop Studios. “And ending the season at East Lake, right before the TOUR’s biggest moment, shows how important these creators have become to golf’s ecosystem.”
With a growing fanbase and successful expansion across the TOUR calendar, some insiders believe the Creator Classic could evolve into something even bigger. Talk is emerging about a possible full-season league for YouTube golfers, offering a unique platform for creator-athletes to compete, entertain, and grow the game — like an amateur TGL or LIV Golf League for the digital generation.
What began as a one-off experiment is quickly becoming one of golf’s most talked-about innovations, and the future looks even brighter. Fans can purchase Wednesday grounds tickets on the TOUR Championship website to see the Creator Classic live.
