Golf is enjoying a remarkable period of growth around the world. From the Caribbean, to Latin America, the Asian Pacific, Europe, Australia, Africa and the Middle East — there has never been a better time to travel and play the game abroad. As the sport continues to expand across the world, The 19th Hole Magazine’s Spring 2015 – Play Away Travel & Fashion Issue will feature a fresh new look at the globalization of golf and it’s luxury lifestyle. From resort properties and destinations, to international fashion tends, food, wine and cultural experiences, our Play Away issue will look at the world of golf through an international eye.
We will begin to highlight one major event that will have a significant impact — the inclusion of golf in the upcoming Olympic Games. After a 112-year hiatus, the International Olympic Committee is re-introducing the sport during the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The game’s last Olympic participation was in 1904 in St. Louis, Missouri when the US and Canada were the only two competing countries. Over 30 nations are now expected to participate, reflecting the evolution of golf over the last century.
Join us as we explore Rio, a city of glamour and glitz. The 19th Hole Magazine’s Spring Issue will serve as your luxury guide to the extraordinary Brazilian culture. Our special 8-part editorial section will spotlight resorts, hotels, dining, nightlife, and fashion, your road map for the most unique and authentic travel experiences
